GCSE & IGCSE courses include 12 hrs of tuition taken over 2 full days. 9am to 5pm. It is ESSENTIAL that you read the accompanying course outline(s) before applying for the course.

To enable the student to interpret and to solve a range of mathematical problems.

To improve problem solving techniques both with and without a calculator.

To strengthen revision techniques and strategies.

IGCSE – 2 day course (12 hours of tuition) = £395

Geometry

Angles, Polygons, Similarity & Congruence, Area, Volume, Similar Shapes, Length/Area/Volume Scale Factors,

Transformations, Constructions, Trigonometry in right angled and non-right-angled triangles, Circle Theorems, Arc length and sector area, Vectors.

Statistics

Scatter graphs, Stem-and-leaf diagrams, Frequency polygons, Cumulative frequency, Box plots, Histograms, Mean/Median & Mode, Range & Interquartile Range, Grouped Data, Data collection, Probability, Set notation, Venn Diagrams, Tree Diagrams, Conditional Probability, Two-way tables.

+ Assessment

The course will include homework to be completed each night and students will answer mock exam questions to enable feedback.

+ Course Materials

Students should bring copies of their own specifications and their main textbooks. All other materials will be provided.

+ Other Information

The strengths and weaknesses of the students in the groups will largely dictate which topics are covered and the amount of time spent on each (it may not be possible to cover every topic of the syllabus).

Please note that the emphasis given to particular topics will be weighted to the needs and requirements of the candidates in the group.
