Course Outline
Aim
- The revision course is designed for students who will be sitting the AQA and OCR AS Physics A examination in the summer of 2012. The course is not suitable for the OCR’s Advancing Physics and the AQA Physics B specifications.
- The emphasis of the course will be on examination technique and the consolidation of basic principles and facts.
- Specimen paper questions and questions from past papers relevant to the new AS Physics course will be worked through and examiners’ mark schemes will be provided.
- The AS revision course will run for 18 hours over 3 FULL consecutive days and the detailed content of each day is shown below.

DAY 3
- Photons and the photoelectric effect
- Wave particle duality
- Energy levels in atoms and photon emission
- Quarks, leptons and Feynman diagrams (AQA only)
Other Information
A scientific electronic calculator is needed for the course.
