Frequently asked questions

Can I do one week of one type of course and then one of another?
Yes, you can, provided there are spaces on the types of courses that you choose.

There are different themes for each week so you will not be repeating the themed activities you have done before:

2MA/2MAR 3MA/3MAR 4MA/4MAR 5MA/5MAR 6MA/6MAR
Adventure Animal Historic Pirates Futuristic

For residential students, at the start of each week (the Saturday) weekly schedules, BBQs, videos and quizzes will all reflect the relevant theme.

Can I do more than one week of any type of course?
Yes, you can.
If you do more than one week on the SportsCrazy course, the instructors will ensure that you reinforce your core skills as well as learning new skills in the subsequent week(s). Instructors will ensure that there is suitable coaching progression from week to week for children doing more than one week.
For the other two courses - StageStruck and ArtBlast, it is also possible to attend more than one week. The various activities reflect the weekly theme and allow students that are staying for more than one week to do different things and keep them interested.

For the SportsCrazy course, will the students be assessed before the course starts and if so, how?
All students will be assessed in their chosen sport during the first session.

What equipment will I need to bring for the SportsCrazy course?
We will send you an appropriate clothing and equipment list.
For tennis, students can bring their own tennis racquets if they wish. As for golf, we will provide golf clubs for beginners with a half set of clubs for their sessions. If a student is intermediate or has a handicap, they should bring their own set of clubs, and let us know their level in advance.

Are all the staff qualified and who will be teaching/coaching?
All sports instructors are fully qualified to a professional standard (e.g. soccer, archery, fencing, climbing).
All sports sessions are fully supervised and many of our people are qualified first aiders. Additionally, all staff are checked with the Criminal Records Bureau.

Do you accept bookings for just one day?
We do not accept daily bookings as our courses are specifically designed as weekly programmes.

What time can non-residential children be dropped off and picked up?
Non-residential children can be dropped off at the school from 8.30am but not earlier. Please take into consideration that activities start at 9.00am. At the end of the day, children can be picked up at 5.30pm or, if they are staying for supper, at 6.30pm.

Can residential children come the day before the start of the course to register?
No. All students must arrive on the day of the course to register.

Is there a show at the end of the course?
Yes, there will be a small show or exhibition at the end of the course for ArtBlast and StageStruck students. For the SportsCrazy course, there will be a mini-tournament. These happen on the Friday afternoon at around 4.00pm and parents are very welcome to attend. All Multi-Activity courses students will convene at 5.00pm for a prize-giving ceremony. Following both, there will be tea for the parents.
